Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed 22 October 2026. We want every musician to be able to use ChordPen, and we keep working to make it easier to use for people with disabilities.
The standard we work to
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, which also covers the Israeli Standard SI 5568 (WCAG 2.0 at level AA) that Israel's accessibility regulations refer to.
What we have done
- ChordPen is designed to be used from the keyboard: writing, moving through a chart, playing and exporting have keys, and the keys can be changed in Settings.
- The control the keyboard is on is marked on screen.
- A light and a dark theme, following your system or chosen in Settings.
- Pages can be zoomed in the browser, and some movement is turned off when your system asks for less motion.
- States are told in words and shapes, not by colour alone.
- These public pages are plain, structured HTML with headings and descriptive links.
What is not there yet
- The chart itself is drawn as musical notation. A screen reader announces controls and labels, but reading a whole chart aloud bar by bar is not fully supported yet.
- In the Editor's dialogs, the Tab key can still move to the page behind.
- We have not yet had ChordPen checked by an independent accessibility expert.
- The YouTube player is YouTube's own, and its accessibility is YouTube's.
If something stops you, tell us: we will answer and, where we can, fix it or help you another way.
